Vandella Vineyards – Our story

“What makes a great wine. The vineyard or the winemaker”

While pursuing our dream of winemaking, serendipity stepped in and led us to unearthing a vintage cast iron ghost that was buried beneath the vineyard floor. Being that a “Vandella” in folklore is a dream invading ghost, naturally, the relic became our mascot, and a symbol of inspiration that there was a greater power propelling us to risk it all.

…And that is how this project has developed – one happenstance after the next, driven by immovable passion and the determination to create the most delicious, standalone wines on the market.

We work with grape varietals we believe in, and give little consideration to trends or what the industry might deem “marketable”. Our wines are never hurried nor manipulated, rather they are a keen orchestration of skill and soil, conceived of imagination, and produced in collaboration with Mother Earth. Every bottle of Vandella tells a unique story that vividly illustrates the all-consuming obsession of the artisan spirit.

What began in 2011 with a mere 50-cases, continues to grow each year. In 2017, we purchased the home of our new winery and future estate vineyard in Napa, California.
